SAN FRANCISCO-Hotel Canterbury, a 224-room boutique hotel nearUnion Square that was shuttered in 2005, will reopen next year as a115-room timeshare property. Wyndham Worldwide vacation ownershipsubsidiary is renovating the asset and plans to reopen it nextfall.
Wyndham says it acquired the 70-year-old property and theadjacent Whitehall Inn from affiliates of The KOR Group in 2006.The purchase price was approximately $35 million, according topublished reports.
Upon completion of the renovation, the property will offer acombination of one- and two-bedroom units as well as 20 luxuriouspresidential suites of one to three bedrooms. Hotel amenities willinclude a fitness center, business office and on-siterestaurant.
