As a result of the lease, it occupies 100% of the building,which was constructed in 1991. The postal service will takeoccupancy of the space in February, after the current tenantvacates it.

Southern Commercial Real Estate Advisors principals Tom McFaddenand William Bradford represented the landlord in the transaction,DCT Industrial Trust. Mark Stratman, of the Staubach Co.,represented the US Postal Service. "The US Postal Service neededthe extra space because of the growth that the Orlando area hasbeen experiencing," McFadden tells GlobeSt.com.

McFadden adds that the postal service solicited proposals fromthree or four developers to build a new facility, but decidedagainst it. "It made more economic and geographic sense to remainin the same place," he says.
