SANTA ANA, CA-Bisno Development Co. affiliate Main Street Concourse LLC has debuted the 242-unit lofts portion of its City Place residential and retail mixed-use development at Main Street and Memory Lane. The project, which occupies an 18-acre site near Westfield Group’s MainPlace, consists of three types of housing called the Lofts, the Courtyards and the Park.

According to Bill Hammerstein, a partner with Main Street Concourse, the residential portion of the project is designed to create live/work and townhome style units “with its own upscale commercial center.” The lofts at City Place include units of one and two bedrooms and up to approximately 1,925 sf, with a retail space or office on the first level, main living areas are on the second level and master suites on the third.

The Courtyards feature floor plans of two and three bedrooms and measure up to 1,870 sf, with the Park portion including townhomes of three and four bedrooms. The Park townhouses also feature two-car garages and floor plans ranging from approximately 1,819 sf to 2,494 sf.

Hammerstein says that one of the selling points of the residential portion of the development is its location within walking distance to the 60,000 sf of retail that is part of City Place. The retailers include McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, Corner Bakery, Bank of the West, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Geisha House Restaurant, Mother’s Market, Pinkberry Yogurt and FedEx.

The lofts and townhomes are the latest in a series of urban and other multifamily projects by Bisno. The company, established more than 30 years ago, specializes in master-planned communities, mixed-use developments, theaters, hotels, resort and office properties.
