Work is wrapping up on the 190,189-sf Oasis Medical Tower I and123-room Oasis Lifestyles assisted-living facility on the 30-acrecampus at 11919 W. Airport Blvd. as well as the three-acre OasisPark. A grand opening is planned for mid-December for the firstphase.

The campus' future projects include an urgent-care center and asenior citizens' condominium building. Final bids are beingreceived for general contractors and architects on the remainingdevelopment. The project's total build-out is estimated at fiveyears.

A spokeswoman for Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc., whichis working with Chaparral on the medical office building'slease-up, says Oasis Medical Campus is a prototype concept in whichsenior citizens can live next to medical services and remainindependent. "When this is completed, the idea is that you'll havecondos for people who are retired and they'll have access tohospitals and medical buildings--all in one place," she says.Chaparral Group is weighing options whether to develop and sell orhold the campus for the long term.
