The stores will be City Furniture's first in this part of thestate. The retailer owns and operates six Ashley FurnitureHomeStores as licensee, and 15 City Furniture locations throughoutSouth Florida. The new stores are slated to open simultaneouslynext summer, according to City Furniture president KeithKoenig.

Locally, Miller Construction has already begun work on theinfrastructure of Alico Lakes, a 31-acre mixed-use center at AlicoRoad and Interstate 75 under a site development contract, accordingto a statement. An 80,000-sf City Furniture and a 34,000-sf AshleyFurniture HomeStore will anchor the center. The stores will haveseparate entrances but with an interior connection.
