WASHINGTON, DC-The federal government has acquired ColumbiaPlaza in Foggy Bottom for $100 million. The 511,000-square-footoffice building has been accommodating the State Department for thepast two decades.

General Services Administration wanted to own federal buildingsthat are fully occupied by government agencies. Columbia Plaza,located at 2401 E St. NW, is near the headquarters of the StateDepartment and is fully leased to the agency.
