FORT WAYNE, IN-Parkview Health recently openedits new $536 million new hospital campus here, moving its mainfacility from the downtown to Parkview Plaza Drive. The newfacility adds about 975,000 square feet to the originalParkview North building.

The hospital made the decision in 2008 to move from its maindowntown headquarters at Parkview Hospital. Firm executives toldGlobeSt.com then that the main facility was more than 50 years old,and not expandable. That facility will remain a community hospital,the executives said.

The new 410-bed Parkview Regional MedicalCenter was developed by Chicago-based Jones LangLaSalle’s project and development services division. Otherfirms involved included Dallas-based HKSArchitects, Indianapolis-based PepperConstruction and locally based WeigandConstruction.
