SAN DIEGO-Affirmed Housing Group will host agroundbreaking ceremony tomorrow at 10 a.m. forSolterra, a mixed-useresidential development forseniors that will combine unique sustainableinitiatives with affordability in a setting adjacent to a growingdowntown. The project will be located at 131 and 155 Chambers St.in the El Cajon neighborhood, and the ceremony will be held at 131Chambers St. Speakers will include Mayor MarkLewis and Councilmember Bob McClellan,both of the City of El Cajon; Jim Silverwood,president and CEO of AHG; and AliceCarr of JP Morgan/Chase Bank, whichprovided construction and permanent debt for the project, AHG tellsGlobeSt.com.

A housing community for persons 55 and over, Solterra will offer49 homes including 46 one-bedroom and three two-bedroom homes intwo buildings. The residences will offer traditional and moderndesign elements to complement the style of the surroundingarchitecture. Residential entry plazas for both buildings areplanned to create a welcoming urban front door and courtyard forthe homes above.
