KENNEDALE,TX-Kennedale, TX, a town of around 7,000-plus souls,has some great things going for it. Those working with the citytell GlobeSt.com it combines small-town charm andfriendliness with an ideal location just to the southeast of FortWorth.
Kennedale, unfortunately, ran into problems in attractingcommercial real estate developers with the reason boiling down tothree words: Sexually oriented businesses.
“If you go back into the neighborhoods, this is a lovelycommunity with a lot of great houses, that have higher values than(nearby) Mansfield and South Arlington,” notes JackThompson, whose Fort Worth-based companyOrasi is providing economic development consultingservices to the city. “But the perception was that the U.S. 287corridor, where all those businesses were located, didn’t look verygood.”
