CHICAGO-DSW Inc. will open the first retailstore today in the redeveloped portion of the SullivanCenter, formerly known as the Carson Pirie Scott& Co. building on South State Street.The mixed-use, historic tower has had about $190 million inrenovations for its office and retail sections, withTarget also expected to debut at the building thissummer.

Joseph Freed & Associates was touting theDSW opening this week as leasing manager for the building. However,the opening is a bittersweet role after Freed had to relinquishmost of its ownership interest in the tower after Boston-basedWinthrop Realty Trust and Toronto-basedElad Canada Inc. bought the PNC-held defaultednote on the building in December.
