FORT MYER, FL-Clearwater-based Liberty Group of Companies haspurchased an 80-room hotel in Fort Myers from a senior lender. TheCandlewood Suites hotel, completed in 2008, was recently foreclosedby the senior lender.
Liberty bought the hotel from the lender at a discount in anall-cash transaction. The Candlewood Suites hotel deal is the 17thacquisition for Liberty since 2010. In February, the companyacquired a Comfort Inn hotel in Plant City and Comfort Suites hotelin Clearwater. For the full story, go to Tampa Bay Business Journal .
