NEW YORK CITY-Nearly one year since the 10thanniversary of 9/11 and one month after One World Trade Centersurpassed the Empire State Building in height, the World TradeCenter hit another historic milestone today: SilversteinProperties’ Tower 4 officially topped out after the finalsteel beam rose 977 feet and was placed atop the 72-storyskyscraper at a ceremony earlier this morning.

As construction workers, local officials and the commercial realestate community looked on, the tune of “God Bless America” playedin the background as the steel beam soared to the top of the tower,making it the final piece in a historic moment for Lower Manhattan– a neighborhood once ravished with sadness and destruction, nowreborn.

“It fills my heart with joy,” said LarrySilverstein, president and CEO of Silverstein Properties,upon looking out across the progress made across the entire 16-acreconstruction site. “Together we finished and opened that building[Seven World Trade Center] six years ago. It was a tremendoussuccess, not just economically, but as a symbol of Downtown’srebirth. Like many of you, I’ve always believed that the WorldTrade Center would be a success, and I’ve always believed inDowntown.”
