REDONDO BEACH, CA-The City of Redondo Beach haslaunched a request for qualifications for a waterfront developmentopportunity covering more than 15 acres of oceanfront land. The RFQis a major milestone in the City’s comprehensive WaterfrontRevitalization Project, which includes targeted upgradesof public and private spaces across the waterfront, stretching fromRedondo’s pier to King Harbor.

The redevelopment will include 150,000 square feet of existingbuilding area, with up to 400,000 square feet of net newdevelopment led by those chosen from the RFQ responses, which aredue July 9. The land is fully entitled through the coastalcommission.

“I’m personally very excited about this RFQ,” Redondo BeachMayor Mike Gin tells GlobeSt.com. “It representsover 10 years of work in our community. The residents, several citycouncils and staff have come up with a wonderful plan to revitalizeour waterfront. I’m excited about the potential to create somethingspecial out on our waterfront again.”
