HOUSTON-Behringer Harvard REIT I Inc. of Dallasis readying to launch construction on the 332,000-square-foot TwoBriarLake Plaza. A specific groundbreaking date for the class Aoffice building has yet to be announced, but completion isscheduled for early 2014, and the project is 50% pre-leased toSamsung Engineering America Inc., which is takingthe space for its North American headquarters.

The project will be situated on 1.5 acres at the corner of WestSam Houston Parkway and Briar Forest Drive in the Westchasesubmarket. “Two BriarLake Plaza will be constructed to operate incoordination with One BriarLake Plaza,” says GregBrooke, Senior Vice President of Behringer Harvard REIT IInc. in a prepared statement. “Walkways will connect both buildingsand facilitate the sharing of amenities.” Behringer Harvard REIT I acquired the 502,410-square-foot OneBriarLake Plaza, at 2000 W. Sam Houston Parkway South,in September, 2008.

Two BriarLake Plaza will also add to the BriarLake complex adeli, a fitness center and a conference center that will be sharedby both properties. When construction is completed, the BriarLakePlaza complex will comprise more than 830,000 rentable square feetof office space.
