LAKE FOREST, IL—Lake Forest College here will receive a new233-bed student housing facility the next school year, thanks to anew development agreement the school has struck withBalfour Beatty Campus Solutions LLC. The NewtownSquare, PA-based student housing developer and operator has teamedup with Chicago-based architect Solomon CordwellBuenz and Walsh Construction, aconstruction contractor also based in Chicago, on the $15-millionproject.

Located on the College’s South Campus, the development calls forthe demolition of Moore Hall, one of Lake Forest’s existing studenthousing facilities. The new 62,000-square-foot community is slatedfor delivery in time for the 2013-2014 school year.

Like most of its projects, Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions isdeveloping the Lake Forest facility in a public-private partnershipwith the college. According to the firm’s president, Bob Shepko,“The College’s administration and staff have been terrific partnersand we’re excited to be working with them.”
