SAN JOSE, CA-CBRE Global Investors, a Los Angeles-basedinvestment firm, is in contract to purchase a high-profile officebuilding in downtown San Jose. The real estate investor is buyingFairmont Office Tower, a 326,000-square-foot building at 50 WestSan Fernando St.

The firm will pay approximately $270 to $280 per square foot, orabout $88 million to $91 million, for the 17-story office tower.Forest City, which acquired the tower in 1998, hired TCI Propertiesin Redwood City to market the skyscraper.
