TYSONS CORNER, VA-Ever since news was released that Intelsat was moving its headquarters toTysons Corner from the District, the submarket—and building—hasbeen fielding numerous inquiries from other companies, says TimSteffan, SVP of Macerich.

Earlier this month, Intelsat, one of the world's top providersof satellite services, announced it would be moving to TysonsTower, a building being developed by Macerich and the AlaskaPermanent Fund Corp. Intelsat is taking 188,000 square feet, or 37%of the building, with an option to expand to 50%.

"The announcement about Intelsat has created additional interestfrom other entities," Steffan says—from companies inside andoutside the region.
