LOS ANGELES and DENVER-Inseparate transactions Mesa West Capital has fundedtwo loans totaling $84 million in non-recoursefirst mortgage debt for the acquisition of the HyattRegency Denver Tech Center in Denver, CO and therefinancing of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek nearVail, CO.
Mesa West provided a joint venture led by JMIRealty with a $42 million loan for theacquisition of the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center from HyattHotels Corporation in a transaction valued at approximately $60million. The hotel will continue to operate under the Hyatt flagunder a long-term franchise agreement and will be managed byDavidson Hotels & Resorts.
The Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center hotel is located in theDenver Tech Center, an 800-acre masterplanned development along the I-25 Corridor in southeastDenver with more than 32 million square feet of office. Theonly Four Diamond Hotel in the Denver Tech Center,the 451-room hotel recently underwent a $5 millionrenovation that included upgrades to the lobby and public spaces, anew restaurant, and a new hi-tech tech check-in system. Withmore than 30,000 square-feet of function space, representing 67square feet of meeting space per room, the hotel has a distinctcompetitive advantage in the submarket.
