ALBANY, NY—The State University of New York's College ofNanoscale Science and Engineering reports the approval ofits “START-UP NY” economic development plan thatwill seek out public-private partnerships at campus sites here andin Canandaigua, NY.

The CNSE identified 82,090 square feet of office and lab spaceat the Albany Nanotech complex; 26,650 square feet of office spaceat its Smart Cities Technology Innovation (SCiTI) Center at KiernanPlaza; 1,505 square feet of office space at its Smart SystemTechnology & Commercialization Center in Canandaigua; and 1.5acres of land at the Zero Energy Nanotechnology Building underconstruction at the Albany Nanotech complex.

State officials say that additional future START-UPopportunities are expected at CNSE facilities in Buffalo, Syracuse,and Utica including the Buffalo Green Energy Innovation andCommercialization Hub, the Buffalo Medical Innovation andCommercialization Hub, the Buffalo Information Technology Hub, theNano Utica Computer Chip Commercialization Center (Quad-C), and theCentral New York Hub for Emerging Nano Industries in OnondagaCounty.
