CUPERTINO, CA—HomeServices of America, Inc., aBerkshire Hathaway affiliate, has acquired Intero RealEstate Services, one of Silicon Valley's largest andfastest growing residential real estate brokerage firms, and InteroFranchise Services, its affiliated franchise network. Terms werenot disclosed.

Headquartered in Cupertino, Intero serves Northern California in13 offices throughout the San Mateo, SantaClara and San Benito counties. Since2007, Intero Real Estate Services has consistently ranked in thetop 5 market share in Silicon Valley, based on volume and in 2013,closed nearly 7,300 units and $5.7 billion of volume. The Interofranchise network, which is comprised of nearly 50affiliates located in Alabama, Arizona,California, Colorado, Nevada, Tennessee andTexas, generated more than $1.5 billion in salesvolume in 2013. Intero Real Estate Services and the Interofranchise will each retain their name and existing branding withoutchange or interruption.
