OWINGS MILLS, MD—AvanlonBay Communities plansto build a new community here at Hunt Valley TowneCentre. It has tapped Greenberg Gibbons,a developer of mixed-use, town center and retail properties, tobuild the first phase residential component of the project.

Briefly, Hunt Valley Towne Centre is a mixed-use development inBaltimore County. It has more than 50 retailers and restaurants, including Wegmans, Dicks Sporting Goods and Regal Cinemas. But thecommunity wants to expand further, becoming the vaunted"live-work-play" community for which so many developments strive. The AvalonBay project, it is hoped, will bring Hunt Valley TowneCentre closer to that ideal.

The new community will be known as Avalon at Hunt ValleyTowne Centre. It will be a five-story structure containingapproximately 332 apartment units and 30,000 square feet of retail.AvalonBay will start construction this fall, with both theapartments and retail space hoped to completed in spring 2016.
