BOGOTA, COLOMBIA—Hilton Worldwide has signed anagreement to open eight new Hampton by Hiltonproperties in Latin America, including four inPeru and four in Chile.

It will be the largest development for the brand in the regionin recent years. The agreement is a continuation of the partnershipbetween Hilton Worldwide and Colombia-based MetroHotels, which last week opened Hampton by HiltonCali, Colombia.

“Peru and Chile have shown great potential in offering tourismand business opportunities,” said Ian Carter,president, global development, architecture and design, HiltonWorldwide. “This is a great time to expand Hilton Worldwide'spresence in these markets and we're thrilled to continue ourdevelopment efforts in Latin America with our partners at MetroHotels.”
The first two hotels in the new agreement are expected to open inthe early months of 2018 in Lima andSantiago and will join the brand's recently openedhotels in Colombia – Hampton by Hilton Cartagena,Hampton by Hilton Barranquilla and Hampton byHilton Cali. Metro Hotels has three additionalHampton hotels in the pipeline throughout Colombia in:Valledupar, Yopal, & BogotaUsaquen all slated to open in 2015. The companyis actively working to add three more hotels to the pipeline inBucaramanga, Medellin and another in Bogota.
“Our intention is to continue our growth strategy in Latin Americancountries with stable and healthy economies, and position Hamptonby Hilton as the most important brand for business travelers in thebiggest and intermediate cities,” said FelipeGaleano, development manager, Metro Hotels.
Today's announcement complements the recent opening of Hampton byHilton Cali, showcasing the continuous interest in developing inthe region. Located in Santa Teresita, in the Westof Cali, the hotel overlooks the Rio Cali and is surrounded byseveral dining options. The 105 rooms feature freeWiFi, 32-inch HDTV, a mini-refrigerator and modern amenities.
Currently, Hilton Worldwide has a portfolio of six hotels inColombia, three in Peru and one in Chile and will continue toexpand with 60 hotels in the pipeline throughoutthe region.
