BALTIMORE—Locally-based Seawall Development Co.is looking to acquire the Walmart-anchored 25th St. Station projectin the Remington neighborhood although the firm leaves the dooropen as to whether Walmart will be part of theproject once it breaks ground.

Seawall Principal Donald Manekin says the firmis “contract purchasers” of the former Anderson Automotive GroupInc. car dealership property. WV Urban DevelopmentsLLC, led by Rick Walker, walked away fromthe 25th Street Station project in May due to intense oppositionfrom adjoining property owners.

The project was approved in 2010 as planned urban developmentand was to include Walmart and Loews as anchors. Loews pulled outof the project, while a Walmart spokesperson has stated recentlythat it is still interested in the project, according to theBaltimore Business Journal.
