NEW YORK CITY—Numerous construction projects under way allaround town are in danger of grinding to a halt. That's becausecrane operators may be headed for a strike, according toCapital New York.

The workers, represented by the Building ContractorsAssociation, were authorized to walk-out on jobs after the unionand Locals 14 and 15 failed to reach an agreement in contractnegotiations on Monday. The existing contract expired atmidnight.

BCA's members work for some 300 construction companies,including some of the city's largest firms. BCA did not returnrequests from GlobeSt.com seeking comment. Construction giantSkanska declined to comment.
