JERSEY CITY, NJA new “boutique rental” building is opening inthis city's Powerhouse Arts District, with a name and specialfeatures focused on helping to build its arts community. The119-unit “Art House” at 148 First St. is set in a neighborhoodwhere the concept of supporting the arts has long been entrenched,but execution has been herky-jerky.
The Shuster Group developers say their new 12-storybuilding embraces the arts community that exists and expandssupport for it. The building itself is designed to “encouragesocial interaction,” and provides display space for the work oflocal artists throughout the building.
The Art House opens for occupancy Sept. 1, offering an array oftenant amenities, including a rooftop pool and sun deck with directviews of the Manhattan skyline.
