CHICAGO—Capri Capital Partners, LLC has justnamed real estate economist Dr. Sam Chandan as apartner, and its chief strategy officer and global head of strategyand research. A contributor to GlobeSt.com, Chandan also leads NewYork-based Chandan Economics and is an adjunctprofessor of real estate at the Wharton School of theUniversity of Pennsylvania. He will continue thoseactivities and join the Chicago-based firm's investment committeeand lead its domestic and global investment strategy and researchactivities.

“Sam is one of our industry's true thought leaders. He brings toCapri significant expertise in real estate analysis and appliedstrategy,” says Capri chairman and chief executive officerQuintin E. Primo III. “This appointment happens ata critical juncture in the growth of our platform, both in the USand as we expand further into Africa, the Middle East, andAsia.”

The firm is seeking to expand its activity in India, forexample, “a very different environment for real estate investment,”Chandan tells GlobeSt.com. “Having strong local partners iscritical to success when investing in India.” And although Capriofficials already have strong relationships in the country, he addsthat he also has personal ties to the country and “an affinity forthe market” and can help from a research and strategyperspective.
