EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—Upscale tenants continue toseek quality, well-located space, says NancyErickson, director for Cushman &Wakefield. C&W has picked up three new leasing agencyassignments in Morris, Essex and Hudson counties.
Erickson says the primary businesses driving leasing activity atproperties catering to upscale demographics are sit-down casualdining; specialized fitness such as rowing and spinning;preschools; and health and beauty, including emerging concepts likefranchise massage and blow dry bars.
“These are three very different projects in three distinctmarkets, yet they all sit in densely populated, higher-incomeneighborhoods with excellent daily traffic counts,” says Erickson.“These attributes cater perfectly to an active group of regionaland national retailers looking to establish or expand theirfootprints in New Jersey.”
