COPENHAGEN—Denmark plans to restrict lenders'issuance of interest-only mortgages after itscentral bank and rating companies said the pace of growth in thoseloans is posing a risk.
The government wants to “spell out” that borrowing levelsshouldn't rise, business minister Henrik SassLarsen said told Bloomberg in a phone interviewThursday.
“We're sending a polite message that it's a good idea to startamortizing loans.”
