WASHINGTON, DC—The Municipal Securities RulemakingBoard has signed a 15-year lease in the Franklin Squareoffice building at 1300 I St. NW, for38,869 square feet. The regulatory agency – MSRBis the organization responsible for regulating the municipalsecurities market – is moving from its current location at 1900Duke St. in Alexandria, VA.
1300 I St. NW is owned by TIAA-CREF and wasrepresented by Cassidy Turley.
Gary Stein, Ben Plaisted and GregScheipers of Savills Studley representedthe agency for this deal and in identifying another location forthe MSRB's data center. The agency wanted its office location to bein downtown DC next to other financial market regulators and closeto Capitol Hill. It considered a number of options including thepossibility of dividing space between two locations. The MSRB willmove in 2016.
