SARASOTA, FL—Construction has begun on the 255-roomWestin Sarasota hotel here, part of a two-towerdevelopment in the city's arts district that will also include 141residential condominium units.

The project being developed by Kolter HospitalityLLC of West Palm Beach, FL overlooks Sarasota Bay and whencompleted will be near Armand's Circle, Van Wezel Performing ArtsCenter, the Ringling Museum of Art and Siesta Key Beach. Hotelofficials say the new hotel will open in the summer of 2016.
