BROWNSVILLE, Tex.—SpaceX has broken ground on asite east of here that will serve as commercial satellite launchvenue.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk said yesterday thathis company expects to spend $100 million in South Texas over thenext three to four years on the first commercial orbital spaceport,according to an AP report. Gov. Rick Perry andother officials joined Musk at the ground-breaking ceremony.

Construction of the $85 million site at Boca ChicaBeach will be offset by $2.3 million from theTexas Enterprise Fund and $13 million from theSpaceport Trust Fund.
