CLEVELAND—The Toronto-based real estate firm AvisonYoung has been aggressively expanding its Americanpresence and just planted its flag in Cleveland. In the last fiveyears, the firm has grown from 11 offices to 60 in 49 markets, andfrom 300 to more than 1,600 professionals across Canada, US and inEurope. This is its second office in Ohio, having opened one inColumbus last January.

The company has also just hired ChristopherLivingston as principal of Avison Young and managingdirector of the Cleveland office. He has more than 20 years of realestate experience, and most recently served with InfinityConstruction Co. as manager of business development andmarketing.

As reported in GlobeSt.com, other recent expansions by AvisonYoung include its September acquisition of Morristown, NJ-based assetmanagement firm Kwartler Associates and theopening of a new office in Oakland, CA in August. In April, itopened its first European office by acquiring Haywards LLP, a London-based commercial realestate services firm.
