BOSTON—Multifamily investment manager the BerkshireGroup has formed a new board that includes CharlesB. Leitner, its newly appointed CEO. The industry veteranjoined Berkshire as president last October, and now assumes theCEO's chair as George Krupp, the company'sco-founder, becomes chairman of the board.

Along with Krupp and his brother Douglas Krupp,who now serves as vice chairman and co-founded Berkshire in 1969,the board includes also Joseph Azrack, principalowner, Azrack & Co. and senior advisor to Apollo GlobalManagement; C. Ronald Blankenship, whoserves on the boards of Regency Centers Corp., Pacolet-MillikenEnterprises Inc. and Carefree Communities; and JeanneMyerson, president and CEO of the SwigCo.

“We believe the combined experience of this board will benefitBerkshire as we continue to grow and further develop ourcapabilities as a real estate investment manager,” says Leitner. Headds that each director comes to the board with “an extensive trackrecord in managing, growing and leading major institutional realestate investment organizations.”
