WASHINGTON, DC—New York City-based UrbanCompass reports it has opened its first office inWashington, DC with the acquisition of Lindsay ReishmanReal Estate, a leading residential brokerage based in thedistrict.

The announcement on Thursday marks Urban Compass' first newoffice outside of New York City, and is a critical step in thecompany's strategy to harness the full power of its scalabletechnology to expand into key markets nationally, company officialssay.

Effective immediately, Lindsay Reishman,founder and principal broker of the firm that carries his name,joins the firm as president of Urban Compass Washington, DC. Inthis role, Reishman will work closely with Urban Compass' founderand executive chairman Ori Allon and founder andCEO Robert Reffkin, as well as presidentLeonard Steinberg and head of expansion &strategic partnerships, Andi Bernstein, to drivethe growth of Urban Compass' Washington, DC area presence, with animmediate focus on recruiting.
