NEW YORK CITY—The Walton Group of Cos. has hired John Goodwin asSVP of retail development in Walton's land acquisitions andinstitutional relationships group, Walton Asset Management-USA. Hewill focus on retail and commercial development sites owned ormanaged by Walton. Goodwin's work will include both advising on thezoning and planning of retail assets and overseeing leasing anddevelopment. He also will be the point person for Walton'srelationships with retail tenants for North America.

Previously, Goodwin was director of development at Kimco RealtyCorp. where he was responsible for new development andredevelopment projects in 11 western states. He also served asdirector of real estate for Kimco, making him responsible forleasing, repositioning and redeveloping a portfolio of 14 shoppingcenters consisting of 2.5 million square feet throughout Californiaand New Mexico.

Goodwin tells GlobeSt.com about his departure from Kimco, thoughhe didn't cite a reason for the change. “I enjoyed my tenure atKimco immensely and while it was difficult to leave, I am excitedto pursue this new opportunity with Walton.”
