LOS ANGELES—Hundreds of real estate leaders gathered at theVibiana in Downtown Los Angeles for the 2014CoreNet REmmy Awards and Charity Gala. This year'sREmmy Award recipients include Terri Johnson,senior director of global real Estate and facility services atAvery Dennison, Hyundai MotorAmerica and the JLL team forKaiser Permanente. The Southern California CoreNetchapter also gave $15,000 to the non-profit JuniorAchievement of Southern California.

Johnson nabbed the CRE Executive for Industry Excellence awardfor moving the firm's corporate headquarters to an open andcollaborative work environment. The judges noted that althoughthere was steep competition in this category, Avery Dennison's newworkspace “created visionary results” because it combined “domesticand international headquarters, change management and strong andpatient leadership.”

Hyundai Motor America's team of Hyundai EngineeringAmerica, Gensler, SnyderLangston, Cresa andTurelk won the Leadership Award for an InnovativeProject for its 500,000-square-foot LEED-Goldcertified headquarters. The judges were extremely impressed by thedesign, explaining that it “reflected the ultimate in corporatereal estate.” Some of the characteristics the judges appreciatedabout the building include sustainability, design, cityentitlements and program management.
