PITTSBURGH, PA—United States Steel Corp. willrelocate its corporate headquarters operations from 600 Grand St.to a new headquarters building to be built at the site of theformer Civic Arena in the city's lower Hill District.

Adjacent to CONSOL Energy Center, the 250,000-square-footbuilding will be owned and operated by a joint venture betweenClayco and Pittsburgh Arena Real EstateRedevelopment LP, an affiliate of the PittsburghPenguins.

In its announcement on Monday, United States Steel officials saythe new headquarters, to be completed in 2017, will retain 800 jobsat its new location and anchor new development ventures in theregion. The new headquarters project was announced by United StatesSteel Corp. president and CEO Mario Longhi andPittsburgh Penguins president and CEO DavidMorehouse. The new headquarters facility will also houseemployees currently based in a number of locations, which willprovide significant cost savings for the company.
