WASHINGTON, DC—A majority of respondents to aGlobeSt.com poll asking whether full-servicebrokerages can avoid conflicts of interest even though theyrepresent both tenants and landlords responded in theaffirmative.
Some 33% of respondents agreed that a broker'sprofessional ethics means he or she works in the best interest ofthe client and 19% noted that standard disclosureshighlight any potential conflicts, keeping them at bay.
In contrast to those views, 21% stated thatlandlords reap the benefits in such a scenario. Another25% said that any advantage on one side or theother is impossible to separate from the regular workings of themarket.
