MIAMI—Why does Doral appeal to foreign investors? That's a goodquestion for Ana Codina-Barlick, CEO of the newDowntown Doral development—an she's got a good answer.

“Many foreign investors feel their money ismore secure in US real estate, and these investors are verycomfortable with Miami's international market,” saysCodina-Barlick. “Doral has become a key submarket for those who areinterested in keeping a Miami residence, but are not looking torelocate full-time.”

Codina-Barlick also points to Doral's population of more than50,000 and its role as home-base for many major businesses likeCarnival Cruise Lines and Perry Ellis, has elevated the investmentopportunity in the area by creating a strong rental marketyear-round. Now, she says, Downtown Doral has completed thelifestyle experience for people living and working in Doral, whichwill continue to encourage international investment within thecity.
