BOSTON—GeneralElectric CEO Jeffrey Immelt hasapparently followed through on his threat to relocate the firm'sglobal headquarters from Fairfield, CT to Boston.

Immelt launched a multi-state headquarters search in June oflast year after bristling over well in excess of $1 billion in taxincreases proposed by Connecticut Gov. DannelMalloy and passed by the State Legislature to fill afunding gap.

A host of states have been courting GE to relocate headquartersoperations, including New York, Texas, Georgia, Rhode Island andothers. The company was considering sites in Manhattan as well asin Westchester County, NY.
