"It was time for me to 'run on my own steam' for the second halfof my career," Bernards tells GlobeSt.com. "Beyond spending 20-plusyears in the family business, I always knew that eventually I wouldwant to do something new and different. This opportunity presenteditself and the timing was just right."

In addition to good timing, the company was a good fit forBernards. "I have worked with many subcontractors over the yearsand few, if any, have impressed me as much as Sharpe," he says."From the moment you call their office, until the time their workis completed on a project, it is a first class experience. They areabsolute experts and yet a fun group of people and that works forme and my preferred style of doing business. I have a great deal ofrespect for Steve Sharpe and Keith Costanzo and am glad to now callthem my business partners."
