TOMS RIVER, NJ—The Walters Group has brokenground on a new 102-unit affordable rental community for seniors tobe named Cornerstone at Toms River. The projectwill fill a need for senior (55+) affordable housing in thetownship, with priority for residents affected by Super StormSandy.
Located at the intersection of MassachusettsAvenue and Cox Cro Road,Cornerstone at Toms River is being built on an11-acre site, which will remain largely wooded and preserved. Theproperty remained vacant for many years because of environmentalconstraints, before Walters was able to gainapprovals.
The project is being built to LEED specifications and will beEnergy Star Certified.
