Miami Worldcenter retail plans

MIAMI—Public promenades and plazas are part of the plans forMiami Worldcenter's high street retail future. MiamiWorldcenter Associates, master developer of the project—incollaboration with Forbes Company and Taubman—aredeveloping a pedestrian-oriented streetscape that will serve as theretail focal point of the 27-acre mixed-use development. Theofficial groundbreaking of the retail project and theParamount condo project are set for March.

The renderings reveal an open-air shopping promenade runningnorth and south from northeast 10th street to northeast 7th streetand between northeast 1st and 2nd avenues. Residential towers, ahotel and exposition center and plenty of dining andentertainment venues will surround the promenade. Nearby,retail shops and restaurants will surround an open-airpublic plaza along northeast 1st Avenue. The idea is to create acentral gathering place and outdoor event space at the heart ofMiami.
