SADDLE BROOK, NJ—Shoppers' growing preferencefor variety and value will drive holiday retail trends for thisseason, including an even greater proliferation of pop-up stores,the emergence of “pop-up warehouses,” an expansion of mobilecommerce and strength in discount retailing, according to a newreport from CBRE.
“While online sales will continue to grow, we're going to see anincreased integration with bricks and mortar, making physical storelocations — which many thought were in danger — an integralcomponent of the ever-changing and dynamic omnichannel retailplatform,” says CBRE vice president StevenK. Winters. “Retail success is driven largely bydemographics, and New Jersey's status as the most densely populatedstate ensures that retailers who successfully integrate theirbrick-and-mortar stores with online and mobile platforms willcontinue to flourish for the long term.”
