Lise Bornstein, a partner at KFA Architecture, has dedicated her 31-year career to shaping Los Angeles through design excellence and a commitment to "intelligent density". Bornstein oversees project conceptualization for a firm that has completed approximately 27,000 residential units and 60 historic adaptive reuse projects.

She is a powerhouse in the affordable housing sector, having guided the delivery of more than 7,000 units across the city. Her current leadership includes helming the West LA VA Campus master plan, the largest project of its kind in the nation, which will provide 1,432 supportive housing units for veterans.

Bornstein’s design philosophy integrates sustainability and livability, using green materials such as reclaimed siding and solar panels in major market-rate developments. Outside of her architectural practice, Bornstein is a fierce advocate for inclusivity in the profession.

As a Past President of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design Foundation, she established fellowship programs and grants to ensure career advancement for women. Her holistic approach to architecture combines creative vision with a steadfast commitment to equity and community thriving.
