Sofi E. Daar serves as a managing director at FTI Consulting Inc., specializing in complex valuation and advisory work for bankruptcy, restructuring, and litigation. An MAI-designated appraiser and licensed broker, Daar has approximately 13 years of experience in real estate. She played a pivotal role in the Professional Financial Investors, Inc. bankruptcy, leading an analysis of 60 properties that eventually achieved more than $460 million in gross sales. In the Hudson Yards eminent domain case, her input was central to an analysis that resulted in a settlement that far exceeded the City’s original estimation. Currently, Daar is managing the sale process for a diverse 175-property portfolio in the LeFever Mattson bankruptcy, having already contributed to more than 70 sales totaling over $185 million. Her expertise is also sought for high-pressure internal investigations, such as leading a 20-person team for a mortgage brokerage under scrutiny by Fannie Mae. Within FTI, she has served as the co-chair of the Women’s Initiative in Los Angeles, organizing educational and networking events. Daar is also an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, serving on both the Programs and Network of Women committees.
