Breana Wheeler is the U.S. Director of Operations for BREEAM, where she has transformed sustainable commercial real estate benchmarking across North America.

In 2025, her leadership resulted in a 90% increase in total certifications over 2023, expanding the framework into new markets like Hawaii and Utah while achieving triple-digit growth in several other states. Wheeler was recently recognized as a winner of the Global 50 Women in Sustainability Awards for her courage and credibility in the field.

She played a central role in launching BREEAM New Construction Version 7, which integrates whole-life carbon and biodiversity metrics into asset performance evaluation. Beyond technical standards, she hosts the BREEAM USA Sustainability Webinar Series to convene industry leaders on climate risk and portfolio resilience.

Wheeler also represents BREEAM in global collaborations, such as the ECHO Project, to harmonize life cycle assessment methodologies. She is a Chartered Environmentalist and an active member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals.
