Morgan Wortham

Morgan Wortham serves as the director of community Advancement at ICSC, where she leads public sector engagement and membership growth. Under her direction, public sector membership increased by 15% in the past year, bringing officials from over 30 cities into the organization.

Wortham is also a PhD candidate whose research on community-based property ownership has provided actionable strategies for wealth building in low-income neighborhoods. Previously, as managing director of the Maryland Women's Business Center, she co-established retail incubators in Washington, D.C. to support women-owned businesses affected by the pandemic.

In 2025, she launched the inaugural ICSC Excellence in Community Advancement Awards to recognize national redevelopment success. Wortham balances her professional role with academia as an adjunct professor at George Washington University, training the next generation of urban planning professionals.

She is also the President of Women in Retail Real Estate (WIRRE), where she is relaunching the organization to provide dealmaking labs and leadership programs for women. Her work sits at the critical intersection of economic development, urban planning, and retail real estate strategy
