Kate Lee-McConnell is the Director of Legal, U.S., for Mapletree, where she established the legal function that supported the firm’s rapid growth to more than $15.5 billion in U.S. assets under management. Since joining in 2018 as one of the first 30 employees, she has led the legal strategy for 10 major portfolio acquisitions, including three transactions exceeding $1 billion each.

In the last year alone, Lee-McConnell spearheaded the legal execution for over $2 billion in industrial, student housing, and multifamily asset sales. This included a $328 million portfolio sale of 30 buildings and a $241.2 million deal involving 10 warehouse assets.

She also oversaw 15 million square feet of leases and nearly $800 million in loan refinancings during the current fiscal year. Lee-McConnell serves as the primary legal advisor to senior leadership on all U.S. and Canadian issues, acting as a key liaison to global headquarters in Singapore.

She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and a dedicated volunteer at her children’s schools. Her leadership is grounded in deep real estate expertise from her prior role at Gramercy Property Trust.
