Belinda Schwartz was named Executive Chair of Herrick in 2023, making her one of the few women in the nation leading a major Am Law 200 firm. Schwartz has led Herrick’s Real Estate Department since 2014 and serves as outside general counsel to family-owned businesses with portfolios valued in excess of $1 billion.

She has significant experience guiding foreign investors from China, Israel, and Turkey through the complexities of the U.S. market. Schwartz recently oversaw the firm's modern renovation of its office at 2 Park Avenue, a significant milestone in Herrick's business journey.

A passionate sponsor of women, she has helped numerous female colleagues find senior in-house roles and is highly skilled in helping them overcome "imposter syndrome". Schwartz was elected a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers in 2023 and serves on the advisory board of Legal Outreach, an educational program for underserved NYC youth.

She is also the founder of Real Women of Real Estate and serves on the Law360 New York Editorial Advisory Board. Schwartz is widely regarded as one of the industry's most creative real estate dealmakers.
